FEBUS Optics has provided a complete pipeline leak detection System (PLDS) using Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) on a Total Energies' export gas pipeline of 33 km long.
Under 155 bars pressure, the pipeline is buried in a desert near Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Our solution was validated through a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in our test center (CESG) and a SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
Since several months, our FEBUS G1-R and our FOGuard software continuously measure temperature along the 33 km through 2 fiber optics cables with precision down to the degree. In case of leak detection, a localized alert is generated in less than 10 minutes.
