We successfully used our well monitoring solution based on Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS) to monitor frac operations.
👉 The combination of Low Frequency DAS (LF-DAS) and microseismicity DAS data is a key point to optimize frac operations and to identify cross well strain during frac hits.
👉 LF-DAS allows to quantify strain and temperature changes due to fracture interference for each frac stage. Here, the complexity of fracture interactions is monitored using our FEBUS A1 DAS which is optimized for frac operations. The system enables to see with high resolution upward and downward fracture growth, but also fracture opening and closure.
👉 In addition to LF-DAS, microseismicity provides insights to understand frac geometry for vertical and horizontal (“pancakes”) fractures, as well as potential slanted fractures, by applying inversion models.
FEBUS technology can be used to optimize:
✅ stimulation design, to minimize runaway super fracs
✅ well spacing, to maximize drainage volume
