To ensure comprehensive monitoring of one or more dynamic cables, FEBUS Optics has developed the FOGrid solution. Based on Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS), it combines the high performance of our patented measurement devices with our alert generation software solution, providing precise geolocation.
MONITOR THE MECHANICAL FATIGUE OF DYNAMIC CABLES
The FEBUS G1 (DSS - Brillouin) provides strain information.
Dynamic cables sections are subjected to significant and repetitive movements that jeopardize their integrity. Constantly exposed to mechanical fatigue, they may deteriorate more quickly.
The FEBUS G1-R and its integrated FEBUS FOGrid Suite software enable swift response in case of failure risk by providing real-time, distributed, continuous and highly accurate localized data, thanks to measurements taken every 10 centimeters.
HOT SPOT DETECTION ON A DYNAMIC CABLE
Detecting a hot spot may suggest that the cable is deteriorating. This phenomenon can progress to a point of breakage.
The FOGrid solution enables to ensure temperature monitoring all along the cable.
The FEBUS G1 (DTS - Brillouin) and our FOGrid Suite software solution achieve real-time, distributed, and continuous measurements. In case of suspicious temperature changes, an alert is generated and the event is precisely geolocated on a map thanks to measurements taken every 10 centimeters.

FOGrid, a cable integrity monitoring solution, combines the performance of FEBUS Optics patented sensing devices with the experience and expertise of its teams.
FOGrid offers comprehensive, continuous and real-time monitoring of the proper functioning of power cables and telecommunication cables. Partial discharges are detected, cable operation is optimized with our RTTR (Real-Time Thermal Rating) algorithm, and environmental monitoring can be conducted.
