FOWell is our innovative surveillance solution that integrates several fiber optic technologies into a single cable:
- FEBUS T1-R (DTS - Distributed Temperature Sensing), to measure in situ temperatures at the production zones with high precision
- FEBUS G1-R (DTSS - Distributed Temperature and Strain Sensing), sensitive to both temperature and deformation variations.
The solution is easy to implement, with optimized costs, being less expensive than traditional methods.

MONITORING HIGH-TEMPERATURE GEOTHERMAL WELLS
High temperature geothermal energy is often used to generate electricity and involves specific techniques like EGS (Enhanced Geothermal Systems).
While improving the efficiency of operations in high-temperature geothermal wells, EGS requires rigorous surveillance. It can generate temperature and pressure variations, as well as induced seismicity. Therefore, equipping a well with a continuous, real-time monitoring system for the structure and its environment is essential.
Using a fiber optic cable deployed in the well, FOWell is the innovative, turnkey FEBUS Optics solution for geothermal well monitoring.
FOWell combines the performance of our patented interrogators and our dedicated software solution FOWell Suite:
- to immediately detect any suspicious temperature variation
