FEBUS REM
Range Extension Module
- Range extension for the FEBUS A-Series and the FEBUS G-Series
- Very low consumption: typically 10 W
- No need for calibration
- Long service life: 25 years
- Integration along the fiber optic line
FEBUS REM GENERAL PRINCIPLE
The Range Extension Module (REM) is a product designed by FEBUS Optics to gain optical budget on a monitoring line by regenerating 90 % of the signal at the REM location, thus extending the range. It is almost as if a new A1 or G1 was installed at this position, with added benefits:
- REM has a low consumption, typically 10 W
- No need for communication with the interrogator
- All the elements comply with Telcordia norm: 25 years of MTBF
- REMs can be chained to reach extreme range (example: with two REMs 3 x 70 km for the G1-R equivalent to 42 dB optical budget)
The FEBUS REM can also be adapted for subsea integration (form factor and thermal dissipation).
KEY PERFORMANCES

Maximal number of REM per line | 3 |
Maximum range per channel / Optical budget | 200 km, 56 dB |
Number of channels | Adaptable |
Sensor configuration | Single ended No need for Termination Unit |
