Distributed optical fiber and active seismic recordings

✅ FEBUS Optics took part in a project developed and financed by the CEA.

A 10 km long optical fiber was deployed in the underground LSBB (Laboratoire Souterrain Bas Bruit). Different coupling were studied by adding or removing sand bundles on top of the fiber.

👉 The goal of the study was to compare active seismic recordings between traditional seismometers and distributed optical fiber measurements.
